Ganggyeong Modern History Street

Ganggyeong Modern History Street is a modern historical and cultural street created in Ganggyeong-eup, Nonsan-si. Ganggyeong was a prosperous area in modern times, centered around the Geumgang River port, forming a commercial district connected to the West Sea. With the opening of the Honam Line railway in 1911, it became a transportation hub, further developing commerce and distribution. However, as Gunsan Port grew and the Geumgang River transport declined, it lost its function as a commercial center. Today, many cultural properties remain here that show the history of Ganggyeong's prosperous era.
