The 'Namdaecheon Wolhwajeong Legend', which also served as the motif for Chunhyangjeon, has been reborn as 'Wolhwageori' and is being filled anew with love stories of all people living today, not as a thousand-year-old tale. The 'Namdaecheon Wolhwajeong Legend' is a poignant love story between a man and a woman, with the main characters being 'Muwollang' and 'Yeonhwa Buin', the parents of Myeongjugunwang Kim Juwon, who became the progenitor of the Gimhae Kim clan in Gangneung during the Silla Dynasty. During the reign of King Jinpyeong of Silla, Muwollang, who was appointed from Gyeongju to Gangneung (old name: Myeongju), accidentally met Yeonhwa, the daughter of a local magnate, and fell in love. However, after being ordered by the court to return to Gyeongju, Muwollang forgot Yeonhwa, and Yeonhwa, who was pressured by her parents to marry another, asked a carp in the pond she frequented to deliver a letter and sent it to the sea. Meanwhile, Muwollang, who had visited the market due to his mother's illness, bought a carp, and when he cut open its belly, a letter appeared—it was Yeonhwa's letter.
