Why travelers stop here
Gubongsan Observatory Cafe Street is a scenic spot that offers a panoramic view of Chuncheon, a beautiful city surrounded by mountains, lakes, and rivers. Gubongsan, with its nine peaks stretching out in a long line, is located on the eastern outskirts slightly away from the Chuncheon city center, making it ideal for viewing the downtown area. In the 1990s, a road was built along the mountainside, leading to the establishment of cafes and restaurants, and it has now become a cafe street. The cafes here feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows or outdoor terraces to provide natural views. Each cafe has its own unique photo spots, such as architecture reminiscent of Santorini, Greece, and a skywalk observatory. Among the upscale cafes, there is also a budget-friendly rest stop where you can enjoy canned coffee and janchi guksu (a type of noodle soup), offering a variety of choices. The bright daytime scenery and the sunset views painted in twilight are both not to be missed.
