Gugak Sarang

Located in the alleyways of Bukchon Hanok Village, this venue offers a traditional Korean cultural experience. Enter through a gate bearing the phrase 'Rewriting Hanok Elegance' to find a space consisting of a main building, annex, and wooden floor. As it also serves as a residence, you can enjoy glimpses of old Korean household items such as earthenware jars, millstones, and small tables. The experience is divided into two types. The first program includes 'omija tea + Korean sweets or fruit + traditional music appreciation.' While tasting the food, lively traditional Korean music fills the air. The second experience includes 'omija tea + Korean sweets or fruit + introduction to traditional Korean instruments + learning Jindo Arirang + learning janggu.' The 'introduction to traditional Korean instruments' explains the history and characteristics of Korean traditional instruments. Then, you sing the traditional folk song Jindo Arirang. After that, you learn the semachi rhythm by playing the janggu. The experience concludes with combining the previously learned Jindo Arirang with janggu playing. Although it may feel unfamiliar, it is the experience from which tourists gain the most enjoyment. You can see shoulders naturally bobbing up and down. Reservations are required.
