Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will hold the 3rd <2025 Seoul Hanok Week> for ten days from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, October 5 in the areas of Bukchon, Seochon, and the Open Songhyeon Green Plaza. 'Seoul Hanok Week' is a complex cultural event that offers various experiences of Seoul hanok, including exhibitions, lectures/tours, hands-on activities, performances, and events, in collaboration with hanok-related organizations, groups, and residents. It takes place in the Bukchon and Seochon areas and at Seoul public hanoks, and information can be found through the Seoul Hanok Portal and SNS. In particular, this year, it will be expanded with the participation of about 90 related organizations and 50 facilities, including a joint operation with 'Bukchon Day,' a representative local cultural festival in Bukchon. Unlike modern architecture, hanok is completed through communication with external spaces and has a close relationship with the yard and surrounding environment. To promote this charm, the exhibition theme of '2025 Seoul Hanok Week' is 'Garden,' and various lectures, exhibitions, and book talks related to gardens will be held. A representative exhibition is 'The Languages of Gardens,' a hanok & garden-themed exhibition held in hanoks in Bukchon and Seochon.
