Located on a high pass overlooking Soyangho Lake below Bonghwasan Mountain in Chuncheon. On the pass, there is a sign made of iron plate, and the letters 'Geonbongnyeong Seunghodae' written on it are the work of calligrapher Choi Yeong-sik, a representative of Chuncheon. There is no observatory or separate entrance, but from this spot, the vast Soyangho Lake and the mountains surrounding it come into view at a glance. It is a place where you can observe the Milky Way as there are no lights nearby, and some people visit at night to take photos of the Milky Way. It is about 10 kilometers up a country road and mountain path, and it is best to avoid it when weather conditions are not good.
