Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Buam-dong in Jongno-gu is a neighborhood with a sophisticated Samcheong-dong atmosphere and winding alleys that retain the old-fashioned charm of the past. Buam-dong is home to art galleries, unique cafes, and restaurants, alongside 1960s-70s rice mills and barbershops. Originally a slow-paced village for artists from various fields including painters, writers, and professors, it has recently gained fame from the area in front of the Buam-dong Community Service Center to the house of Choi Han-seong from the drama <Coffee Prince 1st Store>, leading to a stretch of distinctive cafes and shops lining the road to Sanmodung-i Cafe. Along with Samcheong-dong and Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil, it is noted as a trendy space. It is a good walking course and a neighborhood with diverse aspects that also exude a tourist atmosphere.
