Why travelers stop here
Hosu Brewery is a food dining space where you can enjoy alcohol and cuisine, and also refers to the brewery of the Jumo Cooperative. It is the first traditional liquor brewery in Chuncheon, starting operations in 2019. The name 'Hosu' carries two meanings: representing Chuncheon, the city of lakes, and a lake filled with alcohol. Here, three types of traditional liquor—Seomsul Takju, Yuha Takju, and Yuha Yakju—are primarily produced using Chuncheon's clean water and healthy rice, and are sold alongside refined dishes made with local Chuncheon ingredients. In addition to simple lunchbox menus and lunch/dinner table setting menus, you can also enjoy a high-end set menu paired with traditional liquor. The offerings include Seomsul Takju, which has a smooth finish, a heavy sweetness, and moderate acidity; Yuha Takju, a premium takju with subtle acidity that anyone can enjoy; and Yuha Yakju, a white wine-like liquor that can only be consumed after a 100-day waiting period. Additionally, a traditional liquor-making experience program is available for those interested in traditional liquor. Same-day reservations are difficult, so it is recommended to book in advance.
