Umyeonsan Natural Ecology Park

Umyeonsan is a mountain with an elevation of 293m, easily accessible from the city center in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-dong, Yangjae-dong, etc., in Seocho-gu. The mountain was named Umyeonsan because its shape resembles a cow dozing off. At the southern foot of Umyeonsan, there are dolmens, relics from the Bronze Age, indicating that this area has been a living ground for our ancestors since ancient times. Umyeonsan is designated and managed as an urban natural park by Seoul City. Walking trails and hiking trails are combined with mineral springs such as Taegeuk, Yujeomsa, Seocho Yaksu Terrace, and cultural heritage sites, temples, and cultural spaces such as Daeseongsa, the tomb of Jeong Do-jeon, the shrine of Lee Jon-oh, and the Seoul Arts Center, providing a cozy resting place for urban residents. It is designed to allow visitors to enjoy nature as it is, rather than a neatly organized learning center.
