Why travelers stop here
The Kim Se-jung Museum of Art was established to honor the intense life and artistic spirit of Kim Se-jung, a first-generation sculptor after Korea's liberation who pioneered modern Korean sculpture and contributed to the development of Korean art. As a registered private museum, it serves as a space for exhibitions by renowned senior artists and for discovering and introducing promising young and mid-career artists through exhibitions. Additionally, as a museum open to society, it offers the joy of art and fine arts to local residents and all citizens who love art. The museum first opened after remodeling the former residence of sculptor Kim Se-jung and poet Kim Nam-jo, and was officially accredited as 'The Joy of Art' in 2015 and as 'Kim Se-jung Museum of Art' in 2017. It features two exhibition halls, an outdoor sculpture garden, a seminar room, and a café. At the center of the museum stands a centuries-old oak tree, preserved from the original residence, creating a beautiful landscape.
