Jung-gu Cultural Center

Jung-gu Cultural Center opened in 1995 and provides cultural events to residents of Jung-gu, Seoul. It conducts research on the local history of Jung-gu, collects and preserves cultural materials, and works to inherit and develop regional traditional culture. It also holds events such as the Chungmugong Birthday Commemoration Cultural Festival, Historical Heritage Exploration Classes, and the Cheonggyecheon Culture and Arts Plaza annually, making efforts to establish a new regional culture. For the convenience of local residents, it offers mobile traditional culture and etiquette education, holds drawing contests, traditional Korean music and dance competitions, providing youth with opportunities for cultural experiences and to showcase their talents. It runs various cultural classes to ensure residents enjoy diverse cultural benefits. There is a gallery available for rental, allowing various exhibitions and events to be held. Rental fees are low, leading to an increase in group exhibitions by office workers and university students, as well as exhibitions by emerging and mid-career artists. The center also operates a membership system with an annual fee. Members can participate in cultural heritage exploration activities, receive priority publications from the center, and get early invitations to various events.
