Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Children's Library is the only public library exclusively for children in Korea, established in 1979 to commemorate the International Year of the Child. It is located inside Sajik Park at the foot of Inwangsan Mountain. The library houses a wide range of materials for kindergarten and elementary school children, including various dictionaries, computers, subject-specific books, science, art, classics, creative fairy tales, history, and geography books published in Korea. Materials can be freely selected and used, and some can be borrowed for home use. All necessary materials for children are available in reading rooms such as the First Reading Room, Second Reading Room, and Toddler Room, while the Digital Reading Room provides access to electronic resources and internet information. Additionally, an exhibition hall serves as a cultural space for children and local residents to share culture, and various lectures and reading clubs are operated to encourage children to engage with books.
