Why travelers stop here
Gangdong Cultural Center was established in 1999 to develop, disseminate, preserve, transmit, and promote the culture of the Gangdong-gu area. It was founded in 1999 but its operations were initially insufficient; however, with the formation of a new executive board in 2005, it has been actively conducting activities such as a ground survey of the Gangdong-gu area. The Gangdong Cultural Center organizes various cultural activities for the residents of Gangdong-gu, including the Dunchun Literary Contest, drawing competition, and art exhibitions, as well as a philharmonic orchestra and a mixed choir. It also runs programs for the socially disadvantaged and undertakes projects related to the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Site in Seoul, striving to enhance the emotional well-being of the local community. Representative cultural courses include the Gangdong Cultural University, which offers lectures on diverse topics such as classical novels and psychology, as well as line dance.
