Ganwoldo Eoriguljeot Monument

Ganwoldo is a fishing village famous for its beautiful sunset. In particular, it is the third of the nine scenic spots of Seosan, featuring Ganwolam Hermitage where the great monk Muhak attained enlightenment, and it is a representative tourist attraction for seafood cuisine in Seosan due to its abundant fresh seafood. Upon entering Ganwoldo, the Eoriguljeot Monument catches the eye on the way to the dock. As such, this area, adjacent to the Cheonsuman Bay of the West Sea, is renowned for oysters.

This monument, erected in 1990, has an oyster-shaped sculpture hanging at the top of a white cement tower about 15 meters high. In front of the monument, there are bronze statues of three women harvesting oysters. Near the monument, a fish market and a tent restaurant village have formed, allowing visitors to enjoy oysters.
