Gangwon State Arboretum

Opened in 1999 as a public arboretum operated by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, it aims to provide urban forest recreation and nature learning spaces. The Four Seasons Garden consists of about 30 themed gardens, including a foliage plant garden, a subtropical plant garden, a succulent plant garden, and an ecological observation garden, housing over 1,800 plant species. Seasonal flowers bloom and wither, offering diverse landscapes and enjoyment. In spring, enjoy cherry blossom paths and azalea gardens; in summer, cool off at the fountain plaza and Metasequoia forest; in autumn, admire the chrysanthemum exhibition; and in winter, feel the greenery in the warm glass greenhouse. The Gangwon State Arboretum also operates a Forest Museum, which features a permanent exhibition hall themed on Gangwon's forests, including local flora, fauna, and mountain village life, along with a special exhibition hall and a 3D theater. The aquatic plant garden, with its pond, artificial waterfall, and pavilion, as well as the Children's Garden, a natural playground for kids, are unmissable highlights of the arboretum.<br>
