Whole Family Book Festival

The Whole Family Book Festival is a representative reading culture festival organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, held every autumn since 2013 at Jeongdok Public Library. It provides a space where families and neighbors can come together and communicate through books, and is designed to allow people to experience the joy and value of reading in their daily lives through various hands-on activities, performances, and exhibitions. In particular, it has developed into a collaborative festival by bringing together various institutions such as libraries, lifelong learning centers, local bookstores, and school reading clubs to operate programs in which citizens and students directly participate. A variety of programs are offered, including an award ceremony for reading families, cultural performances, creative activities linked to books, and eco-friendly and traditional culture experiences, making it enjoyable for people of all ages. It is a meaningful event that provides an opportunity to feel that reading is not just a simple activity but a source of joy in life and a value of community.
