Gangchon Resort is a representative resort area spanning Namsan-myeon and Seo-myeon in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. The place name 'Gangchon' originates from 'Mulkkemal,' meaning a village located along the Bukhangang River. With good public transportation access and numerous amusement and accommodation facilities, it was a popular MT (Membership Training) destination for university students from the 1970s to the 1990s. Nearby natural attractions include Gugok Falls (4 km southwest), Deungseon Falls, and Samaksan Mountain (2 km east). Along the walking trails built along the Bukhangang River, visitors can enjoy various leisure activities such as swimming, fishing, sightseeing, and hiking.
