Why travelers stop here
Sewoon Electronics Arcade is Korea's first comprehensive electronics market with a long tradition. Located in Jongno, the heart of Seoul, it serves as the mecca of the urban electronics industry, dealing in a variety of electronic products such as electrical and electronic components, electrical materials, computer semiconductors, audio equipment, electronics, CCTV, gaming devices, karaoke machines, and lighting equipment. Skilled artisans who can handle devices and products are found here. Reflecting its long history, it is known that major domestic companies such as TG Sambo Computer, Hancom, and Commax started here. The site of Sewoon Sangga was originally a vacant lot created in 1945 by Japan as part of a project to leave land empty to prepare for bombings by the United States and other Allied forces. After the Korean War, displaced people who lost their homes built large shantytowns and began living in this area. However, in 1966, it became the site of Korea's first urban redevelopment project, designed by architect Kim Swoo-geun, and was completed as Sewoon Sangga in 1968, two years later. The building has four floors, housing a home appliance distribution market, a wholesale market for household appliances, a specialized market for electrical and electronic components, and repair shops for electronic parts and products.<br><br>◎ Travel Information to Experience the Charm of Hallyu - Drama <Vincenzo> In the drama 'Vincenzo', the story unfolds as Italian mafia lawyer Vincenzo (Song Joong-ki) joins hands with tenants to protect the 'Geumga Plaza' where gold is hidden, standing against a huge force.
