This is a residential site of people who lived during the late Neolithic period, accidentally discovered in 1962 during the construction of a new building site for Seongsim Women's University (now Hallym University) in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do. It was artificially dug into the slope at the eastern foot of Bongui Mountain, 150m above sea level, with a diameter of 4m and a maximum height of 2.1m. At the time of excavation, the cave contained three human skeletons lying with their feet centered, covered in 30cm of fine soil, oriented east, west, and south. Soot marks from smoke remain on the cave ceiling, suggesting it was initially used as a dwelling and later repurposed as a tomb after abandonment.
